Thunder Mountain Custom C4V (TiN) coated Titanium 1911 Auto Firing Pin – 9mm – Prodigy Kit
We have had many customers reporting light primer strikes after upgrading their Prodigys with an EGW or Extreme Engineering ignition kit. After a lot of testing in house and by customers at their local ranges. The combination of our TMC Titanium Firing Pin and our standard weight firing pin spring has resolved all of the issues with light primer strikes when using ignition kits designed for a light trigger pull.
These top quality firing pins are percision machined from Titanium bar stock to exact tolerances, Heat treated and then coated with a C4V (TiN) coating for extended service , many times the life of a standard firing pin. These Titanium firing pins weigh 40 percent less then standard stainless steel firing pins, which dramatically lowers lock time.
The C4V (TiN) coating provides excellent wear resistance with a hardness of 2600 Vickers. C4V is a (PVD) coating (TiN), However one look at our new C4V coating, you will know this is not your Average TiN coating. It has a Coefficient of Friction of 0.4 and is only 2 Microns thick.
