A New Take on the Gold Cup 1911 Trigger

Say hello to our little friend—the Ned Christiansen Gold Cup 1911 Trigger Especial. We redesigned this trigger to solve a long-standing problem: over-travel screws that back out and shut a gun down. Many shooters try adjusting these screws to change trigger pull weight, but on a 1911, the screw only adjusts travel, not weight. Turn it in too far and it blocks the trigger’s rearward movement, prevents the hammer from falling, and can even make the trigger feel heavier. With this design, we remove the screw entirely to eliminate that issue.

Built for Single-Stack Pistols

This model fits single-stack pistols only. To ensure quality, we use trigger bows made with the original Videki dies—long regarded as the benchmark for precision trigger components.

Superior Feel and Finger Feedback

The trigger face remains nearly flat with just a slight radius. Because of this shape, the center of your finger naturally meets the serrations, giving you better feedback than a more rounded trigger. Even if your draw places your finger slightly above or below center, the trigger still feels comfortable and consistent.

Secure Bow Attachment

For durability, we both stake the bow and apply red Loctite. This dual-method attachment keeps the bow firmly in place. During testing, we twisted the bow from straight up to straight down with pliers, and nothing shifted at the stake point—proving the strength of the design.

Taller Shoe for Better Fitting

The trigger shoe is slightly taller, which gives gunsmiths more material to work with when fitting it into frames that may be slightly out of spec. This helps ensure a solid, reliable fit.
