Extreme Engineering LiteSpeed – 1911/2011 Ignition Kit (5-Piece) | Ultra-Fast Lock Time for Competition Pistols
Boost the performance of your 1911 or 2011 competition pistol with the Extreme Engineering LiteSpeed Ignition Kit, a premium fire-control upgrade built for shooters who want faster lock time, cleaner breaks, and long-lasting consistency. Many shooters focus only on the trigger shoe; however, the true trigger feel comes from the hammer, sear, disconnector, and springs. These internal parts shape every aspect of your break, reset, and overall trigger quality. Because of this, even the most expensive trigger shoe cannot overcome weak or poorly made ignition components.
⭐ Why the LiteSpeed Kit Delivers Better Performance
Factory fire-control parts often use basic induction heat treatment, which limits their durability. Once you stone or tune these parts, you remove their hardened surface. As a result, the trigger pull slowly changes and becomes heavier, grittier, or inconsistent.
The Extreme Engineering LiteSpeed Kit avoids these issues entirely. The components come from an advanced aerospace-grade alloy—the same material used in rocket booster engines. This specialty steel resists wear, maintains geometry, and holds its crisp engagement surfaces for years. Additionally, Extreme Engineering machines these components precisely, so you don’t need to stone the sear or hammer hooks. You simply install the parts and enjoy immediate improvements.
⭐ Competition-Optimized Trigger Pull
Right away, you get a clean and crisp 3-lb trigger pull. With a quick adjustment to the included sear spring, you can also tune the system down to a reliable 2¼-lb competition trigger. Because the parts hold their shape and hardness, the trigger pull stays consistent through long seasons of training and match use.
Extreme Engineering components outperform most imported ignition kits, which often use soft metal or inconsistent heat treatment. Furthermore, every Extreme Engineering fire-control part includes a lifetime warranty against breakage.
This kit works best for shooters who want ultra-fast lock time, superior consistency, and full control over their trigger weight. Therefore, it is ideal for competition-focused 1911/2011 platforms.
Thunder Mountain Custom includes its exclusive Light Sear Spring, which delivers a cleaner, lighter, and smoother break compared to standard springs included in other kits.
⭐ What’s Included in the Extreme Engineering LiteSpeed Ignition Kit
🔹 Extreme Engineering LiteSpeed Hammer (Original Model)
The original LiteSpeed Hammer offers extremely fast lock time thanks to its lightweight construction. Its reduced mass shortens ignition delay, improves split times, and creates a fast, responsive shooting cycle. The hammer is heat-treated throughout for optimal strength and longevity. It fits 1911 and 2011 platforms including Springfield, Kimber, Colt, STI, SV, Para, and the SA Prodigy.
🔹 Ultra Low-Mass Sear
The LiteSpeed Sear features a re-contoured geometry that decreases mass and increases reset speed. It allows shooters to run extremely light trigger pulls with more consistency. The micro-honed bearing surface produces a smooth and predictable break. Additionally, the aerospace alloy construction and full-depth heat treatment ensure unmatched wear resistance and durability.
🔹 Ultra Low-Mass Disconnector
This low-mass disconnector improves trigger reset speed and reduces the chance of disconnector lag during rapid double-taps. Because it cycles faster, your pistol stays reliable even under fast competition-level shooting.
🔹 Thunder Mountain Custom Light Sear Spring
This spring is optimized for smooth, light, competition-ready trigger pulls. It helps you achieve crisp breaks without sacrificing reliability. It is included only with this kit and not with others on the market.
🔹 Your Choice of Mainspring (15 lb, 17 lb, or 19 lb)
(Wolff Precision GunSprings)
Choose the mainspring strength that best matches your preferred trigger weight and ignition reliability. Wolff springs provide long service life and consistent pressure.
⭐ Additional Installation Notes
-
You may need to fit the thumb safety for proper engagement.
-
Some pistols require a new thumb safety for correct operation.
-
A trained 1911/2011 gunsmith is recommended for competition-level setups.
⭐ Built for Serious 1911/2011 Competitors
If you compete with a 1911 or 2011 platform—including the Springfield Prodigy, STI, SV, or a custom match pistol—the Extreme Engineering LiteSpeed Ignition Kit gives you faster lock time, superior consistency, and a cleaner break. Because of its aerospace alloy construction and precise machining, the kit produces a match-grade trigger feel that stays stable through thousands of rounds.
This ignition kit is the ultimate choice for shooters who demand speed, control, and long-term reliability in a competition-ready fire-control system.

I replaced the ignition set on my Springfield Ronin 10mm that I will be using for tree stand deer hunting. The factory trigger was @ 4 lbs and creepy. Installation of the EE Litespeed 5 pc group was straight forward with only fitting of the safety required. Results after install were amazing. My pistol has the trigger I was hoping for @ 2.75 lbs and almost zero creep. I upgraded to the EGW Evolved sear spring and the Extreme Engineering hammer strut and pin. Mike has been extremely helpful with my project answering all the questions I needed guidance with. The shipping was extremely quick and at a fair rate. Overall, this was one of the best upgrades I have done to any of my firearms.

I installed this ignition set in my Springfield trp (2014 model) upgraded to the EGW sear spring, Extreme hammer strut and used the 17# main spring. Now I have a 2# trigger with no creep and a glass break. Parts dropped in with a little fitting required for the thumb safety. Would recommend this ignition set and would also recommend Thunder Mountain. Thank You Mike.

Outstanding kit. Solid and crisp 2.5lbs trigger pull paired with Red Dirt trigger in a 2011 frame and titanium strut. Only complaint is the hammer had surface rust.
