The EGW Oversized Firing Pin Stop for Series 80 1911 pistols gives builders and shooters a proven way to improve reliability, extractor control, and slide timing. Designed for 9mm, .38 Super, .40 S&W, and 10mm pistols, this carbon steel firing pin stop delivers strength, stability, and consistent performance.

Unlike factory firing pin stops, EGW machines this part wider and thicker than standard. As a result, it prevents the extractor from rotating, which helps maintain correct extractor alignment. Because the extractor stays in position, ejection becomes more consistent and reliable.

In addition, the increased thickness eliminates unwanted lateral movement. This tighter fit improves overall slide control and reduces wear during cycling. Together, these features help your 1911 run smoother and more predictably.

To further improve durability, EGW radiuses the inside corners of the firing pin stop. These radii reduce stress and help prevent cracking over time. At the same time, the rear corner includes a precise .015-inch radius. This design breaks the sharp edge while keeping a square surface that slows slide opening and softens recoil impulse.

Each firing pin stop is Rockwell tested to 48 Rc, ensuring long service life under hard use. However, because this part is intentionally oversized, it is not drop-in. Proper fitting is required to achieve the full benefits of improved extractor control and slide timing.

This model is cut for adjustable rear sights and fits Series 80 1911 pistols. Series 80 firing pin stops will also work in Series 70 guns, but Series 70 stops will not function in Series 80 pistols.
