EGW machines this firing pin stop wider than factory specs. Because of this added width, the extractor stays locked in position instead of rotating or “clocking.” As a result, ejection becomes more consistent and predictable. In addition, EGW makes the stop thicker to remove lateral movement, which further improves extractor stability during recoil.

To increase durability, EGW radiuses the internal corners to reduce stress and prevent cracking. At the same time, the rear corner features a controlled .015-inch radius. This design breaks the sharp edge while keeping a square profile that slows initial slide opening. Consequently, recoil impulse feels smoother, and the pistol runs with better timing.

This firing pin stop is Rockwell tested to 48 Rc, so it resists peening and deformation even under heavy use. However, it is not a drop-in part. EGW intentionally oversizes this component so a gunsmith can fit it precisely. Proper fitting unlocks the full performance benefits and ensures long-term reliability.

Although designed for Series 80 pistols, this firing pin stop will also function in Series 70 guns. In contrast, Series 70 firing pin stops will not work in Series 80 pistols. This version is cut for adjustable rear sights, making it ideal for competition and custom builds.
