Oversized Firing Pin Stop – Series 70 – .45 ACP – Blue
Firing Pin Stop Cut for Adjustable Sight
Improve reliability and control in your Series 70 1911 with the EGW oversized firing pin stop. EGW machines this part wider than standard to keep the extractor from rotating. As a result, the extractor maintains proper tension, and ejection becomes more consistent and predictable.
EGW also makes this firing pin stop thicker than factory parts. This added thickness removes lateral movement in the slide, which helps stabilize the extractor and firing pin system. Together, these features create a smoother, more controlled cycling action.
To increase durability, EGW radiuses the inside corners. These radiused corners reduce stress and help prevent cracking over long-term use. In addition, the rear corner features a precise .015-inch radius. This design breaks the sharp edge while keeping a square profile, which slows initial slide opening and softens recoil impulse without sacrificing reliability.
Each firing pin stop is Rockwell tested to 48 Rc, ensuring consistent hardness and long service life. Because this part is intentionally oversized, it is not a drop-in component. Proper fitting is required to achieve the performance benefits described above.
Simply put—it works.
