EGW also machines this firing pin stop thicker than factory parts. This added thickness removes lateral movement inside the slide and stabilizes the extractor and firing pin system. Consequently, the slide cycles more smoothly and with greater control.

To increase durability, EGW radiuses the internal corners. These radiused corners reduce stress and help prevent cracking during long‑term use. In addition, EGW cuts a precise .015‑inch radius on the rear corner. This design breaks the sharp edge while keeping a square profile, which slows initial slide opening and softens the recoil impulse without sacrificing reliability.

EGW Rockwell tests each firing pin stop to 48 Rc, ensuring consistent hardness and long service life. Because EGW intentionally oversizes this part, it does not drop in. Proper fitting is required to achieve the performance benefits.
