Challis Hex Drive Bushings provides a Simple Installation from the Start

Challis Hex Drive Bushings make slim 1911 grip work easy and predictable. Instead of fighting a slotted head, you use a 7/32″ nut driver for full control. As a result, each bushing installs fast and seats clean.

To begin, place the bushing into the socket and turn it into position. Because the socket holds the bushing straight, the threads start correctly every time. In turn, you avoid cross-threading and wasted time.

Strong Hex Design That Holds Torque

Unlike slotted bushings, the hex head stays rigid under torque. It resists slipping, burrs, and deformation. Therefore, you can drive the bushing firmly into place without damaging the top.

Once installed, proper torque keeps the bushing secure during recoil. You do not need Loctite. Instead, apply 27 in-lbs on steel frames or 20 in-lbs on aluminum frames for a solid, repeatable hold.

Stable Grip Support Under Recoil

These bushings support heavy grip materials with confidence. For example, G10 and aluminum grips stay tight during firing. As a result, grip movement stops and long-term stability improves.

Optional O-Rings for Maximum Security

Although the bushings work without O-rings, we strongly recommend them. O-rings keep grip screws tight, protect the frame finish, and improve overall grip security. Most importantly, you can feel the difference once installed.
