EGW machines this part wider and thicker than standard firing pin stops, which helps stop extractor rotation and removes unwanted lateral movement during cycling. As a result, your pistol ejects more consistently and runs smoother.
EGW radiuses the inside corners to reduce stress and prevent cracking, so the part lasts longer under hard use. In addition, the rear corner features a precise .015 radius. This design breaks the sharp edge while keeping a square profile that slows slide opening. That controlled slide speed helps reduce battering and improves overall timing.
EGW hardens each firing pin stop to 48 Rc on the Rockwell scale. Because of this hardness, the stop holds its shape and resists peening over time. Although this part is not drop-in, fitting the oversized profile allows you to achieve a tight, custom fit that delivers the full performance benefits.
This stainless steel firing pin stop fits Series 70 pistols chambered in 9mm, .38 Super, .40 S&W, and 10mm. Series 80 firing pin stops will work in Series 70 guns; however, Series 70 firing pin stops will not work in Series 80 pistols.
